Brief: One day brief by Future Design Consultants - Think of a concept and design an Instagram campaign for the NHS aimed at young people aged 18-30 to encourage them to play their part in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Group project with James Gibson and Cal Hunter.
Insight: Young people want to be talked with not told what to do, it's important to spark a conversation rather than lecture. The main points young people need to be aware of in regards to COVID-19 is
1. Responsibility to protect others- especially elderly and vulnerable relatives with the easy transmission of the virus.
2. Socialising - limiting social contacts ("your bubble") and not taking risks when it comes to meeting with other people
Solution: Operation Cover Up - an Instagram campaign to encourage young people to wear masks, reduce taking risks when socialising and protect their vulnerable loved ones. Using bold visuals to attract attention on social media and using a casual, slightly humorous tone of voice to discuss the topic.
